It has been a difficult month for the entire team. There was a sense of urgency that engulfed our family right after Stephen was diagnosed; there were a lot of decisions to be made regarding our finances, living arrangements, changes to our daily routine, and child care. In the whirlwind of these practical grown up events, my little girl was faced with the emotional struggle of no longer having Daddy at home. I did not think Stephen’s hospitalization would effect our children as much because I am usually at home and have had my share of solo parenting while Stephen would be away on business. So when Stephen had to go back to the hospital after a day pass during Thanksgiving, it broke my heart to hear Lena cry in between her sobs:
“Mama, I want Daddy to STAY.”
