We have hit a snag in the road. The clinic we were looking at is not able to accept him as they are not properly equipped for all his medical needs. I have since applied to various clinics and have talked to a few doctors. However, they have all been hesitant to accept him because of his current infections and his high white blood counts (it is currently at 150 WBC, they want it to be at 50 WBC – for reference, the normal count is 4-11WBC). I have two more doctors to call today.

The one hospital we are looking at however is three times the original cost of treatment and with Stephen’s current condition we are looking at ambulatory transport – the cost of which I have not calculated yet. They are also thinking he would need transfusions and antibiotics there which are not covered by this treatment.
