An Easter blessing

After a gruelling week of fevers, a potential surgery (which was not performed – thank goodness), constant bleeding, and several rejections from clinics and hospitals, we finally received some good news: Stephen was finally accepted at a clinic down in Mexico!

His blast counts which was abnormally high at 130 last week was at 18 yesterday – this means his body IS responding to the low dose chemotherapy he is getting. His liver is not functioning optimally but he has not needed extra oxygen in the past week. Although he is not in the best state to travel, we are at a better place than we were last week.

We are leaving on Easter Sunday at 7:30 AM and should arrive in San Diego at 1PM. He begins treatment at a clinic in Tijuana on Monday. This is a three week treatment and we have raised enough for the first two weeks of treatment including blood transfusions! Thankfully we are allowed to pay for the treatment on a weekly basis. Please continue to share this so that he can complete the full three weeks and come home.

Thank you so much for all the support and prayers, I am truly overwhelmed and humbled by the amount of compassion that is out there; I am hopeful Stephen will see this through.
