Home: Day 10

It is exactly one month since Stephen started his treatment program at the Immunity Therapy Center. We are still adjusting to the many changes the home program requires while balancing his daily transfusions and hospital visits.

We had several scares and some small victories since he has come home. The most recent scare was the seizure he had on Friday which led to a bunch of new problems including bleeding in his brain due to his fall. However a notable victory is that his liver which was showing signs of liver failure is now showing signs of normal function. Furthermore, his blast count percentage which was at 90% this time last month is down to 16%!

The struggle right now is maintaining his platelet count. He was at a whopping 1 platelet for several consecutive days prior to his seizure despite daily transfusions. They are reducing his chemotherapy dose to see if he can produce more platelets. It is very important that his platelets are at 30 to reduce further seizures and to help heal any internal bleeding.

He rests for most of the day and has started doing his therapies in his newly converted room. He has had a fever since he returned and the source is still a mystery to the doctors as they can’t seem to pinpoint where the infection is coming from.

Thank you all very much for all the prayers and support throughout this journey.
